DBSK





-ONE-



It was already the night of the show at Yokohama Blitz, the one show that had sold out tickets after only the opening day. My best friend and I had, after years of grueling work and determination, saved up enough money to go to this amazing performance. We had taking a long flight to Japan all the way from Texas a couple nights before to see, the one and only, DBSK (Dong Bang Shin Ki) perform one night only at the Yokohama Blitz tour held every 5 years in Japan.
We were standing in line about 6 hours now, and there was still no sign of the entrance, it looked as if all of Yokohama was there. I turned to my friend, Sayaka, “Can you really believe it?! We’re really here!!” She couldn’t help but to share in my excitement. We were actually going to see our FAVORITE band of all time perform live! “Yeah I know!!” She hugged me. “Thank you so much for bringing me with you!” I laughed and hugged her back. “Who else am I going to take to a DBSK concert!?” I joked around.
After another hour or so we were finally at the front gate. We happily got our tickets and walked into the enormous building, of which we were in utter shock at the shear size of. After we came back to reality two girls had taken our seats! I lightly tapped one of them on the shoulder and she glared at me. I smiled and told her that she and her friend were in our, well paid for, seats. She didn’t make one effort to move. I sighed, not wanting to cause a scene, and walked forward, finding 2 empty seats in the front amazingly. Sayaka, amazed that I didn’t try to fight the girls for our seats, sat beside me. “Nothing is going to ruin this perfect day! Nothing!” I yelled at her over the roar of the crowd around us as the lights dimmed. Onstage, there they were; Yunho, Max, Micky, Xiah, …and Hero. All of them neatly lined up with their heads down, looking at the ground.
The music started and we jumped up with the rest of the large crowd, screaming and singing to all of their songs. They did all their songs, it felt like, one of which included MAZE, a solo done solely by Hero Jaejoong. During the solo, I was completely silent, never having been so focused on something… let alone someone so much in my entire life. Sayaka jabbed me with her elbow, I didn’t even respond to that. “Hey Kana!!” I shook my head and looked over at her, completely dazed. “Hey… are you alright?” I nodded, still halfway into my own little world, watching Hero.
The solo ended, which was the last performance of the night, and Micky Yoochun, the one member of DBSK that can speak fluent English, came out to make an announcement. He said that DBSK will be drawing two ticket stubs from a tub, and if the number on your ticket matches the number on the stub, they you get to spend a whole 2 weeks with DBSK themselves. My heart stopped, and I’m sure Sayaka’s did too.
After Micky went offstage I looked at my ticket, memorizing the numbers. 4657911 was my number. I looked over at Sayaka’s and hers was 4657912. DBSK had gathered back onstage. Max and Yunho had drug out the huge tub completely filled to the brim with green ticket stubs. They spent about 10 minutes rummaging around in them and pulled out 2 stubs that were stuck together. I gripped my ticket, almost ripping it completely in two. Micky walked over and grabbed the two tickets from Max and looked at them. “Ok we have two winners!!” The tension in that coliseum was nerve-wracking. “4657911 and 4657912!! Please make your way onstage at this time!” I couldn’t breathe, I happened to look over at Sayaka, who looked in as much shock as I was in. We both stood up and pretty much ran onstage, still not believing that it was actually us with the winning tickets. Micky looked at our tickets and nodded. “Congratulations girls, you have the winning tickets!” Sayaka squealed and jumped up and down, dragging me in it with her. We were going to spend our last two weeks in Japan, living with DBSK!!
